A new phenomenon has hit the sports world recently: parents filming kids being devastated that X player left Y team. The latest iteration comes in the form of Jeremy Lin and a 5-year-old boy named Naim, who was devastated that Knicks didn’t match the Houston Rockets’ offer sheet for Jeremy Lin. Okay, so maybe he didn’t understand the finer points of the financial ramifications, but the thought of his favorite player leaving New York was too demoralizing to handle. Here’s the video:
Apparently the video reached Jeremy Lin’s computer screen, because he reached out to the family and agreed to Skype with Naim and his family for 10 minutes. Naim is pretty shy, unlike his first video, and the Dad does the majority of the talking, but it’s nice to see an NBA player reaching out like this.
